Somebody hit me
Sand Veil and Snow Cloak are now banned under Evasion Clause.
HOLY FLAMING MOTHER OF GOD
(I can stop using bs Terrakion now!)
Notes: 1) This is supposed to be a Pokemon blog as well as a music blog, so here: play.pokemonshowdown.com <– This is an online Pokemon simulator that’s… pretty awesome. For those of you who didn’t know about it before. 2) I’ll try to update this more often.
News: I’m kind of broke right now, so I won’t be able to get the new Pokemon games OR see Converge and Kvelertak next Sunday… I should probably get a job.
On Pokemon Showdown, there’s this tier I’ve been playing called Balanced Hackmons. For those of you who don’t know (again), it lets you put any move and any ability on any Pokemon with very few bans (Wonder Guard, OHKO moves, Pure Power, Huge Power, Arena Trap, Shadow Tag). Perhaps the best way to learn more about it is to go here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3463764 So I’ve been running this crazy set recently:
Deoxys-Speed @ Lum Berry
Trait: No Guard
- Magic Coat
- Skill Swap
- Magma Storm
The idea is to “borrow” the opponent’s ability. When the opponent is another Deoxys-S (It IS the lead metagame), Magic Coat is often my first move to scout what the opponent does. If it isn’t Magic Coat, I can move from there (1st-turn Spore or Spikes often means that they don’t have Taunt) and “borrow” their ability while still getting the benefits of my own. If they don’t switch out afterwards, I can trap them with Magma Storm and get my Magic Bounce Pokemon in safely to set up. This is also a deterrent to Flash Fire Escavalier, who my team otherwise has little chance against. It’s so fun!
I’m going to try to be a bit more active on this. …not like anybody cares, but it makes me feel better inside, and that’s what matters, isn’t it?
I’m going to a friend’s house for a concert on Saturday night. It’s going to be cold and rainy. I don’t care.
There will be three bands playing. The first band is Liotta, a pop punk band from somewhere relatively close but really far away from me. They put on a sick live show, and you can find a music video of theirs here. Band #2 is Hometown Advantage. The one time I could have seen them, we got stuck in traffic. Shit sucked. Anyway, I don’t really know what they sound like. Band #3 is The Young Giants, an indie punk band. My friend plays the drums in this band. I will never stop enjoying them unless they pull a Green Day or something. Their demo can be downloaded from their FB page.
Yeah, this is going to be sick.
This will me my blogish thing where I post stuff about music and Pokemon. Don’t judge me.
